If you are constantly busy and constantly on the go then this can make you feel tired and over worked and highly stressful. This isn't just bad for the way you feel though, this is also very bad for your health and your psychological well being. We are not designed to exist in a constant state of stress, and the results that this 'fight or flight' response can have on the body over a long period of time are devastating.

In short we need time to rest both physically and mentally in order to feel ourselves overcome feelings of tension and stress and to give our body a chance to heal. When we are running around and constantly on the go we are using our brain and our body on overdrive and this causes wear and tear. Our immune system is constantly being worn out and this then means that we are unable to repair ourselves and unable to let ourselves recover. This then leaves us susceptible to illness and if we don't take a break our immune system will be too weak to fend off attacks from bacteria and other pathogens.

At the same time this also has the negative effect of making us feel tired and groggy and constantly overworked. It's normal to feel like you have a headache, like you have no energy and eventually this can lead to depression.

Thus we need to find a way to over come this and to help ourselves feel more energetic and alert again, while letting our body fight off bacteria and infection and rebuild any damage to our body.

There are many ways we can achieve this, and for lots of us, simply going on holiday is enough to help us feel like we've had a mental break, and a physical one too if it's a pool holiday.
